Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermititis

Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that makes your skin red and itchy.  It is more common in children but can occur at any age.  Atopic dermatitis is long-lasting (chronic) and tends to flare periodically and then subside. Multiple factors can trigger or worsen atopic dermatitis, including low humidity, seasonal allergies, exposure to harsh soaps and detergents, and chilly weather. Environmental factors can activate symptoms of atopic dermatitis at any time in the lives of individuals who have inherited the atopic disease trait.
